INFORMATION DISSEMINATION AND PUBLICATIONS

• The Institute plays an effective supportive role in the development of domestic energy sector by disseminating vital technical information in the form of an annual publication PAKISTAN ENERGY YEAR BOOK.

• Publication of a six-monthly journal of international standard: PAKISTAN JOURNAL OF HYDROCARBON RESEARCH.

• The first ever book on GEOLOGY OF PAKISTAN has been published from Germany as a spin off of the HDIP-BGR cooperation.

• Among other activities, HDIP has organized many national and international conferences, the major ones being the International Symposium on Petroleum for the Future in 1988, the First South Asia Geological Congress (GEOSAS-I) in February 1992, at Islamabad.

• The Third South Asia Geological Congress (GEOSAS-III) was held at Lahore from September 23-26, 2000
