INTRODUCTION

The Hydrocarbon Development Institute of Pakistan (HDIP) is the national petroleum Research & Development (R&D) organization. It is an autonomous body of the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources established in 1975 under a Resolution of the Federal Government and registered as per Societies Registration Act, 1860. The organization has now earned itself a pioneering role in oil and natural gas resources exploitation and use. It carries out applied research, provides consultancy and laboratory services to the petroleum industry and renders technical advice to the Government on matters referred to it.
